My hobby and passion

Secondary Two life is so much different than Secondary One. There are much more homework and projects. Everyday when I come back from school, there are piles of homework to be done. Especially on Wednesdays because there is Maths, Geography, Literature and Malay. These are the subjects that are bound to have tons of homework. And on top of that I have tuition. I also have my personal study routine that I follow without fail. So how do I cope with the stress? The answer is Soccer and Blackshot!!!

One of my hobby and passion is the simple, yet to some complicated, game of Soccer. Every weekend I will meet up with my primary school friends and we will play soccer at the street-soccer court near my house. The rules of street-soccer is that only ten people can play at a time. So it will always be a 5v5 game. Since the street-soccer court is public, we will have to fight for it. Do not worry it is not the type of fight that you are thinking of. We basically have to play a match with the people who are using the court. We will play up till five goals. The winner will have the court until another challenger comes.

My other hobby is playing the online FPS(first-person shooter) Blackshot. You are basically one of four best soldiers in the world but your main enemy decide to make clones of you and you must fight them back for world peace. There are five game modes that you can play. Search and Destroy, Team Flag Match, Team Death Match, Search And Destroy Infinity and lastly Bunker Defence. There are also seven type of weapon choices. Rifle, Shotgun, SMG(Sub-Machine gun), Sniper rifle, Pistol, Melee and lastly by grenade. This is an example of the video. I love this game as there is a lot of action and you need a lot of skill to use the different type of weapon.

The Worst Day Of My Life

Today, I probably had the worst day of my life. To start things off, I was almost late for school. I asked the prefect to give me a chance as it was the first time in two years I was late. Luckily the prefect just let me off with a warning. I immediately ran up to class as I wanted to put my bag. On the way up to class, I stepped on my shoelace and started to fall down. To my embarrassment, there was a group of Secondary One's by the staircase and they laughed at me. I went up the stairs in shame after tying my shoelace. I received a shock when I reached my class. They had already left for assembly! Cursing my luck, I ran all the way to the parade square.

When I reached the parade square, I was already sweating profusely. My form teacher scolded me for being late for assembly and asked me to stand up. Another embarrassing moment! After assembly was science. When the teacher came inside the class to teach for science, I stared in shock when I realised I brought my tuition bag instead of my school bag. I told my teacher that I brought the wrong bag and he told me to copy the answers from someone else. This practically carried on for the rest of the day.

On the way to Bedok Interchange, it started raining very heavily. I searched for my umbrella in my bag then remembered that I was using my tuition bag. I cursed my forgetfulness. I needed to run to the nearest shelter. I fell again. I was more embarrassed this time as it was in public and I was also drenched. Once I was on board the bus, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I realised I was in Yishun Interchange!!! I took the bus 854 to my house and that took another 30 minutes. When I reached  home, the effects of the day took a toll on me and I immediately fell asleep.

A moment spent alone doing something I enjoy

Last Saturday, my parents were out for their business meetings. They gave me $50 to spend as I will be alone at home for the whole day. My parents allowed me to go to anywhere I want so I will not feel bored. I immediately knew where I wanted to go.

So when my parents left for their business meetings, I got ready for my trip to Escape Theme Park!!! I left home at around eleven so I decided to have lunch at Hei Sushi. The food there was brilliant. I had chicken teriyaki set and also crab stick sushi. Yummy!!!

After I ate my lunch, I went to Escape Theme Park to enjoy the rides there. The price for an adult ticket was $17.70. I paid the price for the ticket and went in. The first ride I took was the Inverter. It was a really scary and nauseatic ride as it keeps spinning around and around. There is an example of the ride below. I felt really dizzy after that ride. I stop and sat at the bench for a minute or two. After I felt better,  I went to the Daytona Go-kart track. I had a lot of fun there as we had to race with other people. I went to both the Beginner's and Expert tracks. I found out that I really liked racing as I had an adrenaline rush when I drive really fast. I went to The Haunted Mansion after that. The place was actually like a maze and there will be 'ghosts' at every turn. I went to take The Viking. This was another nauseatic ride. I sat at the very back of the viking. When the ride started, I did not feel anything but midway through the ride, I felt that I was about to be thrown away by the force of the ride. Alas, the sun always has to set and that signifies the end of my fun time doing something alone.

Something that happened in school

Last week, my friends and I encountered an unlucky incident during recess. We managed to get a spot in the fully-packed field. My classmates, Fadi and Amir, were captain so they had to choose six players on each team. I was on Amir’s team. We were enjoying the soccer match. I almost scored a goal but the goal keeper managed to save it.

Halfway through the game, a bunch of students from another class came to the pitch. They looked disappointed as the field was full. One of my friends laughed at them. I asked him why he laughed and he said that they deserved not getting a spot in a field as they were down for recess at such a late time. My friends and I usually went straight to the field upon hearing the ringing of the bell so that we could get a spot at the field. I agreed with my friend but I did not laugh at them as I did not want to find any trouble.
What happened next shocked me. The group of students went to a male teacher who was doing his recess duty and talked to him for awhile. I noticed that they were pointing at us. The teacher then walked towards us. We stopped the game as we knew something was not right. The teacher told us to stop playing and to move to another spot on the field. Although that spot of field was vacant, there was no goal post so we could not continue our game. As we were walking to the other spot of the field, one of the students showed me the middle finger. I was shocked at how immature that boy was. He has been in Victoria School and he still has not learned that Victorians are Gentleman, Professional and Sportsman. I just ignored him. We did not manage to continue our match as there was no available goal post. In the end we just shot the ball at the fence. I was shocked as the teacher was so unfair. He gave our spot to someone who came later than us.

A special moment you enjoyed with you family

During the December holidays, my mom decided to take my brother and I to the newly-opened Universal Studio. I was as happy as a lark as I heard a lot about the thrilling rides, some of which are uniquely designed for Singapore. My mum decided to invite my cousins as she did not want us to feel lonely.  To her, the more the merrier nevermind if such an invitation created a bigger hole in her pocket. Well to be honest, I did not think I would feel lonely as I was sure the day would be filled with  fun. We met our cousins met at 9.30am. My mum bought full day passes. We decided to have our breakfast first so that we could optimize our time exploring the theme park. We had our breakfast at Vivocity's McDonald.

After breakfast, we took the monorail to Sentosa. To my surprise, there were more than a hundred people queuing up to get in as the gates were not yet opened. When the gates were opened, the crowd gave a resounding cheer. We could not contain our excitement. My family went to the Rapids Adveture first. We were all drenched at the end of that ride. After we took that ride, we went for the rock-climbing expedition. I only managed to finish three-quarter of the course. I was disappointed with myself as I used to be able to finish the course. We took a lot more rides after that.

My most memorable ride was the Revenge Of The Mummy. During the ride, I screamed my lungs out. The ride was scary beyond our imagination. The ride turned and twisted and twisted and turned at neck-breaking speed. At the end of the ride  I was literally dazed. My heart was palpitating. Alas, all good days had to end. We went home after having an early dinner.Although I had a really fun time with my family, I was a little bit disapointed as three of the rides were not opened yet. But I was still thankful for the opportunity to go there. Overall, it was a splendid day.
